Green Cleaning Products......
A better job cleaning than store bought or commercial cleaning products?

By Lucy Clark

We have signs and posters all over town advertising our all green cleaning company and from time to time, I'm amazed when we get a call from a homeowner who doesn't care if we use our green cleaning products or not. I've even heard "Those green cleaning products don't work as well- I tried them and I would prefer the store bought brands (in other words, the harmful chemicals)."

Follow me with this because it is a three fold topic of debate, as I'm gonna explain why the green cleaning products are not only better for health reasons, but ultimately superior for cleaning results (and far less expensive).

The caller did however have a good point
. Let me explain:

If you are using a store bought window cleaner (it doesn't matter which one possibly containing glycol ethers and/or Butyl Cellosolve) there is a reason why synthetic chemicals are used:

1. THEY WORK... on contact, or at least appear to work...

So your windows are dirty- you break out the window cleaner and spray and wipe away. But then something happens that not a lot of people notice (unless you are OCC like me). You're window is dirty again in a very short amount of time and you break out the window cleaner again and again. Think about how many bottles of that stuff you bought over the course of a year, and how long did that window really stay clean?

THE TRUTH IS, the chemical cleaner is leaving a film behind and not cleaning the window properly! Since dirt attracts new dirt, this film in my opinion may be created by design (to get you to purchase more). I don't think this is just a coincidence and believe it is by design! So we did a little test with a customers dirty window that probably had gallons of the blue stuff applied to it.

THE TEST
First we tried cleaning it with vinegar and water. Result- the natural solution was getting rid of the dirt but had a hard time penetrating the blue stuff (see why the caller was somewhat right).

Next we used our Dry Vapor System on the window. That was able to easily remove the film as dry vapor is able to go into the pours of glass (yes, glass has pours too) and told our customer not to clean the window.

Four months later, the window still looked deep down clean, but obviously needed a spruce up. A little natural window cleaner and it was back the way we had it- like there was no glass at all!

Basically the test proved that cleaning with chemicals is more expensive and time consuming overall, but had we not had our dry vapor system to help out- what would we have done?

Well, the first time switching over, it's simply going to take more time and effort to eliminate the chemical residue using just natural products. But once you get the chemicals off, watch out!
You will not believe the superior level of clean that going green achieves!
